Welcome to Bounds Green!

A very warm welcome to Bounds Green School. My name is Damien, and it is my absolute privilege to be our school’s Headteacher. I came into post very recently, having worked in and led a variety of north London schools before, and I can genuinely say, there is something very special about Bounds Green. It is a place that exudes happiness and welcome, where staff stay because they love each other and their work; where children and families thrive and achieve, because here, everyone is allowed to be themselves, and to belong. We don’t have a uniform, we use first names, we see you for who you are, and we welcome you for it. 

Children tell me that the thing they love most about Bounds Green is their teachers: the way they feel seen, heard and nurtured, and how interesting all the lessons are. Parents tell me how well our staff know their children, and care for them. 

Everyone here talks about our strong sense of community: its diversity and inclusiveness. Here we work in partnership, as a family, to ensure everyone feels welcomed and respected. 

This is a special place because we invest, continuously, in each other and our mission: every child thriving, belonging and achieving. We are ambitious for our future, and that of all our children. We strive to help all our pupils become their best selves, working in partnership with their parents. Together, we grow confidence, creativity, articulacy and knowledge; we nurture enquiring minds and empathetic hearts. I feel very lucky to work with colleagues who are so incredibly dedicated to education. We all feel privileged to be working alongside such culturally diverse and dynamic children and families. 

If you join our community, you will feel known, heard, recognised and valued. In our school, we give children, regardless of background or need, the very strongest of foundations.
