24 Apr London Maths Challenge at the Historic Guildhall in the City
Last month, four of our budding Y5 mathematicians took part in the London Maths Challenge at the historic Guildhall in the City of London. It brought together over 250 children from 57 schools from all over Greater London and was an exciting opportunity for our children to test their problem-solving skills and maths knowledge through a range of challenging tasks and puzzles. They raced against the clock in a collaborative and lively environment which saw Bounds Green School earn joint-second place!
One of the children said ”The maths competition was a fun and challenging competition where two people were partnered and did varied questions. It was very fun and enjoyable.”
The competition hosts wrote to me after the event saying ‘We were truly impressed by their enthusiasm, creativity and problem-solving skills. Please pass on our congratulations to all of them – they did exceptionally well.’
A great big thank you to Gosia who extended her work day to make sure the morning ran smoothly and who cried with pride when our Bounds Green School team was announced in second place!
We are very proud of our super children for taking part.
