18 Jan Reception Remote Learning – w/c 18.01.21
Hi Reception families,
We hope you are all keeping well at home and working your way through our remote learning activities.
Please remember that EvidenceMe can be used by parents to upload photos and videos of activities that you have been doing at home so then we can see what you’ve been up to. We might not be able to comment on the photos that you have uploaded, but we do look through them and love to see what has been happening while you’ve not been able to be in school!
Below you will be able to see the Remote Learning Activity Pack for this week, as well as various videos from the Reception staff, including phonics, stories, Makaton, PE, etc.
If you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to send us a message via the class emails.

Mid-Week Phonics
Here is our sound for today! ‘y’
Watch the video and encourage your child to join in when Tessa runs through all the sounds we have learned so far.
Help your child to blend the sounds in the words when reading and segment when writing. If you have some magnetic letters at home the children can use these to make words instead of writing them.
Here is our sound for today! ‘z’
Encourage your child to join in.
Children love it when you make mistakes and they have to correct you. This also helps them understand that it is fine to get it wrong – this is part of learning!
The ‘slow reveal’ sentence helps your child break down a sentence into manageable chunks for reading, and supports them in understanding how words are put together to make sentences, with spaces in between each word.
There are more activities to try on the phonics activity sheet at the bottom of this page.
Do you like rainbows and doing experiments? If you do, then this Skittles Rainbow Science Experiment is for you. This fun and easy experiment will WOW the whole family. All you need is a packet of Skittles, water and a white plate. Join in and watch the colours unfold on your plate!
